October 20th, 2012

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the last full week of Big Read events. My, where has the time gone? No matter. We still have lots happening, including two events that should appeal especially to fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Sunday, Oct. 21st, we have an entire day devoted to the children’s book author. Starting at 1:00, we’re going to watch the pilot episode of the popular tv series, The Little House on the Prairie. There will be Rocky Road ice cream, the Big Read sponsored flavor by Big Dipper, for all attendees. After the movie, Missoula Parks and Rec will lead us through some prairie-related crafts, including candle-making, bead weaving, and butter-making.

Keep an eye out for more upcoming posts about Laura Ingalls Wilder on our tumblr, including another guest post by Kelly Ferguson, all leading up to Kelly’s reading from her book, My Life as Laura. Please join us for that on Wednesday, Oct. 24th, at 7 PM in the Large Meeting Room. It should be a lot of fun!

Visit readmissoula.org for more info about upcoming events.
